As new developments arise around the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share the proactive steps we’re taking to keep our passengers healthy and safe during these uncertain times. Our No. 1 priority has always been the safety of our passengers and employees. We would like to assure you that we’re committed to keeping your health and safety at the forefront of our thoughts.

 

Bus cleanliness is a priority and we have been evaluating our cleaning procedures to make sure they are the most effective they can be. Coronavirus (COVID-19) information is changing rapidly and being updated continuously. With the assistance of the International Motorcoach Group (IMG), American Bus Association (ABA), and our industry partners, Southern Coaches is receiving the latest and most accurate Coronavirus (COVID-19) information available. We will continue to adjust our policies and procedures as needed to ensure safe travel for our passengers and a safe work environment for our employees.

 

Currently, we have staff disinfecting all of the coaches at our terminal. In addition, we are making additional cleaning materials available for staff to use in the coaches when they are on the road to target more frequently touched surfaces, like hand-holds, railings, and grab surfaces.

 

We are currently using electrostatic sprayers with Bioesque Botanical Disinfectant Solution as the final step in our disinfecting process. Electrostatic sprayers use a specialized solution that is combined with air and atomized by an electrode inside the sprayer. As the chemical exits the electrostatic sprayer, it’s given a positive electrical charge. The droplets then become attracted to all negative surfaces, covering the visible area, underside and backside, with the sanitizing agent. Surfaces that are already covered will repel the spray, making the method extremely efficient. Air filtration systems filters are cleaned and electrostatically sprayed every ten working days.

 

At regularly scheduled safety meetings we discuss with our drivers the disinfecting protocol. This process will continue to evolve and be used in the future, but we are confident we are keeping our motor coaches as clean as possible. Management will do our best to monitor our protocols and the disinfecting of the coaches going forward.
